The Cut is a community arts centre in Halesworth, home to artistic events throughout the year.
In 2017 Circle 67, the Bramfield based drama group, will be celebrating its 50th anniversary and to kick things off in style we are delighted to be staging Alan Bennett's fun and humorous adaptation of the children’s classic, The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame, at The Cut.
In this show, which is suitable for the whole family, you will find the well-loved characters of Mole, Rat, Badger and the irrepressible Mr Toad. In addition we have Albert, the alternative pantomime horse, and a band of other animals including rabbits, squirrels and some sweetly singing field mice kindly lent to us from the Edgar Sewter Primary School! The villains of the piece are the mischievous stoats and weasels who seek to take over Toad Hall and turn it into a leisure complex.
So join us as we follow the adventures of Mr Toad and his pals. Along the way Toad steals a motorcar and then escapes from prison in a crafty disguise, which gets him into yet more trouble with the locals. He eventually meets up with his four friends again and they plan a surprise attack to regain Toad's ancestral home. And of course, as every good story should, it all ends happily!
Please book your tickets early to avoid disappointment. So banish the post-Christmas blues and, “Hang spring cleaning!”
