Halesworth’s Royal Wedding Celebrations

The world will have its eyes on the Royal Wedding on April 29th, Westminster will be jam packed and yet so will Halesworth in Suffolk.

Many streets in Halesworth have regal names. Queens Drive, Queens Close and Princes Green will all be at the heart of several street parties on the Royal day.

To celebrate the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Halesworth residents Natasha Bailey and Jacquie Adams came up with the idea to adorn the regal streets with parties.

Mrs Bailey told the Beccles and Bungay Journal,

“We have lived in the street for three years and only knew our immediate neighbours, but by knocking on doors and telling people what our plans are I was overwhelmed by the support of everyone.

“We want it to be an event that really brings the community together. I also believe that if we don’t do it this time around these British traditions will get lost.”

Several local companies have sponsored the event, which will see the streets full of long tables, bunting, party food and drink and everything else that goes towards a Royal Wedding.

Its good to see the brilliant town of Halesworth showing its spirit and celebration for the wonderful occasion.
