Posted on 15 May 2012 by

halesworth-audio-toursA few months ago we reported on the development of an innovative series of audio tours produced by the Waveney Valley Towns Group. Halesworth’s tour will guide visitors through the town, imparting local history and letting tourists really get to know the town.

Tony Palmer, Diss Town and district councillor and member of the Waveney Valley Towns Group, told the Diss Express: “It’s all coming together nicely. I am very excited. We have got the booklet sorted and the MP3 players sorted and we are just organising the guest list.”

“The idea was originally presented by the town’s Cittaslow Committee about 18 months ago. When you think of the fact that we are now all working together with a constitution and a bank account and not only working together on this project but on other projects along the way, it has gone extremely well.”

Along with other council projects including mapped walks and web-based local history resources, the audio guides will help tourists really experience the delights of Halesworth and the other Waveney Valley towns.
